It is with a wide range of emotions, excitement, anticipation and a lot of attention to detail that we announce plans to resume salon and skin care services. We are grateful to the clients who have been a part of our “soft re-opening,” which has allowed us to lean in and get used to our new working protocols. You may schedule using our online scheduler or by calling the salon and leaving a message. Please remain patient with us, as messages will be checked remotely until a time that we resume front desk services.
While we miss everyone terribly, we feel we could not offer services until every measure has been taken to assure our clients’ and each others’ health and safety. Each of our estheticians agreed upon a staggered return timeline. Michele and Deb will start back first; Maria and Amy will resume at a later date this Summer. This limited scheduling will allow us time to monitor the flow of incoming appointments, while we follow the data, making any adjustments if and when we need to. Your health and safety is of paramount importance to us as we navigate these challenging times, but so is leaning into our “new normal.”
Here are a few steps we have taken for protective measure and a few new rules for the time being. We hope you know that we are doing what is required of us, plus implementing additional measures on our own.
- Following OSHA’s Guidance for Preparing Workplaces for Covid19.
- Environmental Deep Clean and Sanitation of Salon prior to re-opening.
- Following the State Board rules for Safety & Sanitation that we always follow PLUS the new Guidelines for Covid 19.
- Wearing masks, gloves and other PPE that is available during appointments.
- Requesting that clients bring their own mask (ear loops, not tied) and be prepared to wear it at all times whenever possible. If you do not have one with you, we will sell you one for $3.
- Each employee has re-taken the Barbicide Certification Course for Infection Control.
- We have updated our Policies and Procedures and Operating Agreements to include the new Guidelines. We have been verbally trained on new protocols and have received physical copies to keep for reference.
- We have added a Molekule air purifier to each treatment room.
- We have added a high temperature autoclave and UV sterilizer to each room to further disinfect metal instruments after barbicide.
- Temperature checks available for employees and clients.
- Signing an agreement with each other and from our clients stating we have not experienced symptoms of Covid19, nor are we living with anyone who is.
- Contactless greetings.
- Staying home when feeling sick and asking our clients do the same.
- Scheduled space between appointments to do full room, salon, computer station and bathroom sanitation.
- Only one esthetician or stylist working with one client at a time.
- Clients arriving to the appointment will be asked to remain in the car until notified to come to the salon.
- Upon entering the salon, clients will be asked to wash hands for minimum 20 seconds or will be given hand sanitizer.
- Social distancing between staff within the salon at all times. And making a commitment to each other that we are still practicing social distancing while not at work.
- Removing all testers from shelves, magazines and books from waiting area.
- Product purchases will be appointment only or hands free drop off.
- Touchless payment processing.
We will continue to make changes to our offerings as we move into new phases of the re-opening and continue to rely on the advice of public health experts. If any client has a question, concern or hesitation and would like to speak to esthetician/owner Amy Leavell Bransford, please call the salon or email amy@aviarybeauty.com. We are more than happy to take additional measures to assure your comfort and confidence at this time.
